Tenement Through Time

This new, innovative and interactive exhibition explores tenement life in New Lanark between 1881-1971.

The exhibition highlights the importance of this unique, untouched tenement, known as “Museum Stair”. Museum Stair is the only tenement block in the village remaining with the original interior intact and has been preserved since the last occupant left in 1974. 

Experience these well-loved and individual homes, uncovering surprising aspects of life through the families who lived there.
