The Most Original Old Ship In The World

HMS Unicorn

HMS Unicorn is a museum ship and one of the six oldest ships in the world, and the oldest in Scotland, with a unique story rooted in the history of Dundee. The museum is a monument to Dundee's relationship with the sea, with collections from its time as a Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve training ship active during both world wars, as well as telling the story of Unicorn's unique construction and story of survival for almost 200 years.

The Collection

HMS Unicorn is the most original 19th century wooden ship in the world and is the oldest British-built historic ship afloat, and one of the core vessels of the National Historic Ships fleet. The collection includes photographs, uniforms, tools and ephemera from Unicorn’s long history as a training ship.
