Verdant Drama, Dancing and Music in the Mill

Raw jute fibre was first imported into Britain in 1791 by the East India Company which traded in Bengal. The links between India and the Indian subcontinent and Dundee will be celebrated again this year with this family-friendly afternoon of colour, music, food and dance, celebrating Dundeeā€™s international community.

12 noon Traditional sitar music and storytelling
1 pm Bollywood performance and workshop
2 pm Talk: Dhaka to Dundee- the story of jute
2:45 pm ‘A taste of India’ with traditional sitar music
All day – drop in arts and crafts and face-painting
