Gibb & Hogg Steam Locomotive
Andrew Barclay Steam Hammer
This bar of iron represents the millions of tons of pig iron produced in the West of Scotland and was made at Summerlee Ironworks in Coatbridge. Their iron was in high demand all over the world; shipped abroad for working up into finished products as well used in Scotland to build all kinds of machinery and locomotives. You can see the remains of the ironworks at Summerlee Museum.
