Anderson Boyes coal cutter used at Auchenbegg Colliery, Lesmahagow

This Anderson Boyes coal cutter was used at Auchenbegg Colliery, Lesmahagow, in Lanarkshire. It was abandoned underground in 1922 when Auchenbegg closed and later unearthed during opencast mining operations. The cutter was restored by Anderson Strathclyde, the successor company to Anderson Boyes, and gifted to the Museum.
