- Description
Pony snow shoe, circular base with hoops of cane and wire designed to stop the pony sinking into the soft snow, secured on with leather straps. Used during the Terra Nova Expedition where 19 Siberian Ponies were taken to pull the expedition team sledges filled with supplies and scientific equipment. However, conditions proved too harsh for the ponies and they all perished.
