Yarn Strength Tester from New Lanark. Yarn is hung between two points to check the strength. The top of the tester is a large, round glass covered scale ranging from 0 to 130lbs. The two points from which to hang the yarn are vertically one below the other. There is a hand crank that turns the chain. All parts of the strength tester are joined together by a long brass pole.
