Description

Workers at the Glenboig Brickworks. In the late 1800s the small village of Glenboig, North Lanarkshire became the leading manufacturer of firebricks in the world. Their bricks were used to build the furnaces that fuelled the Industrial Revolution. The demand was enormous due to the iron and steel industries.
