Maritime History Tour with Betsy Miller & Rum Tasting

portrait of tour guide dressed as betsy miller

A tour of the Scottish Maritime Museum at Irvine Harbourside, led by the colourful character, Betsy Miller, who was the first registered female sea captain.

A professional tour of a shipbuilder's flat, as it was in the early 20th century

A tour of the vessel MV Kyles, docked on Irvine Harbourside

The opportunity to explore Irvine Harbourside's coffee shops, pubs, art exhibitions and artists' studios.

There is an optional Scottish infused Rum tasting at The Harbour Light Inn for hardy seaworthy visitors. An additional £8 for this.

N.B. The tour aboard the MV Kyles is subject to weather permitting. An alternative indoor tour will replace the trip aboard the Kyles should weather prevent boarding. A 10 minute walk along the harbourside is included as part of the tour and we recommend suitable outdoor clothing as the coastal weather can be unpredictable.

This event is organised and administered by Tasting History Tours Ayrshire.
